Leaked Messages Expose the Real Ryan Reynolds Hollywood Feared

So, let’s get into it. So, as I said this morning, The Sun in the UK published an article, a really long story about how Ryan Reynolds career is suffering right now and how Hollywood does not want to work with him. They have insiders here in this story talking about how people have been shocked after reading the text messages that were revealed in that big unsealing in January of this year.

It is so crazy to me that Ryan and Blake knew that these text messages would reach the public. They knew that these things would get out there through discovery. >> He was Hollywood’s safest bet. funny, bankable, untouchable. Now, insiders are telling one UK tabloid that studios don’t want to touch him at all.

The Sun published a story this week claiming Ryan Reynolds is quietly becoming Hollywood’s newest liability. Not because of a flop, not because of a scandal of his own making. According to the report, it all traces back to a lawsuit and a pile of text messages his own legal team knew would eventually become public. For over a decade, Reynolds built an image as the industry’s nicest guy.

Deadpool made him a franchise unto himself. His production company, Maximum Effort, became a major player, and his marriage to Blake Lively made the two of them one of Hollywood’s most photographed power couples. Then came the lawsuit between Lively and Her Ends With Us director Justin Baldoni. And when the case reached discovery, private messages were unsealed for anyone to read.

According to The Sun sources, some of those messages did not paint a flattering picture. In one, Reynolds is alleged to have referred to Baldoni and his team using a crude insult. In another sent to talent agency executives, he reportedly described Baldoni as a fraudster. Sony executives were reportedly not spared either, described according to the report in dismissive mocking terms.

That >> and then they talk about these text messages that came out and an insider is saying here that Ryan was too reckless with this lawsuit and lacked respect. He dragged Sony executives into this mess while exposing Josh Josh Greenstein and even Matt Damon. He has let himself become someone to be cautious of in Hollywood.

And then they’re mentioning here a text message that Ryan wrote about Baldon calling him and the others uh buckets of dumb dumb juice. Not a good look. And also in another unsealed message to WME executives where allegedly where he allegedly referred to Justin as thoroughbred predatory fraudster and an inexplicable toxic mess.

And then they also mentioned the text message where Ryan talked about two executives at Sony calling them textbook ineffectual elderly people with no ideas or thoughtful communication skills. Just blunt instruments with six catchphrases and about five keywords. By the way, these elderly people he’s talking about are like three or four years old.

Reynolds and Lively have not commented publicly on these specific characterizations, but The Sun’s insiders claimed the fallout has been real. Three projects tied to maximum effort have reportedly been shelved. His last leading role was over a year ago, and sources tell the outlet that studios are now weighing whether a Reynolds project is worth the risk, regardless of the box office math.

Here’s where it gets messier. The same weekend the story broke, Taylor Swift married Travis Kelce in a wedding attended by dozens of A-listers. Reynolds and Lively were reportedly not on the guest list. Whether that was a deliberate snub or simply logistics, outlets have run with it as a sign of where the couple now stands inside Hollywood’s inner circle.

Meanwhile, separate insiders speaking to entertainment commentators rather than the sun claim Reynolds has a history of clashing with productions before this lawsuit ever existed. One secondhand account making the rounds online alleges that during filming of 2017’s The Hitman’s Bodyguard, Reynolds refused to shoot a major train sequence over dialogue disputes, delaying production by 2 weeks.

Unlike the unsealed texts, this account is unverified, sourced only to industry hearsay, and Reynolds has not addressed it publicly. So, where does that leave him? According to The Sun, Reynolds still has an active first look deal with Paramount, but it expires at the end of this year, and no one inside the industry seems certain it’ll be renewed.

His last three projects linked to Maximum Effort have been cancelled despite an active first look deal with Paramount set to run until the end of this year. So at the end of this year that deal is over and three of his projects have been cancelled. As you know, he has a production company and a marketing company called Maximum Effort, who was also responsible for the marketing of It Ends With Us.

And we all know how that went. And those projects here they’re saying was a planned sci-fi movie called Area 51 and an adaptation of Eloise, both of which were linked to >> the future of Deadpool as a solo franchise is reportedly in question two, with one insider telling the paper the character now presents different risk than it used to.

probably won’t be a movie dedicated to Deadpool alone. He might show up in other Marvel movies just as a sidekick or as a character, but he will not carry a movie by himself. We don’t know if that is Ryan’s decision or if that is a studio decision. But after reading this article, I think definitely this is not Ryan’s decision himself.

And then they’re questioning if we will ever see Deadpool again. And a source is telling the son here that Deadpool is obviously an iconic character within the Marvel universe, but it’s tricky in the in the current climate as his role presents different risk professionally. There have been a few discussions. >> Lively, for her part, has reportedly gone quiet on social media since the wedding.

Reynolds has done the opposite, posting a string of throwback clips with old co-stars, tagging names like Hugh Jackman, Josh Brolan, and Sandra Bulock in what some observers online have characterized as a visible effort to remind the industry he’s still likable to remind everyone through social media that he’s still relevant.

Every day he posts a story or whatever on Instagram about some sports events, but on his Instagram grid, he keeps posting reels with other celebrities, like all these throwback things, and then he’s tagging them and no one’s really reacting back to him. This is quite embarrassing. On 4th of July, he did this video with Chris Evans saying, “When I think of America, I think of you, Chris Evans.

” No like from Chris Evans there as far as I can see. And then he did a reel with Andrew Garfield that I talked about the other day and how the two of them kissed on the Golden Globes. Also an interview that’s several years old I think. And I don’t think Andrew Garfield is on Instagram so he couldn’t like it.

And yesterday he posted a throwback with Hugh Jackman where the two of them were interviewed for the movie Deadpool versus Wolverine. And they were asked how he got the rights to the Madonna song and he talked about how he met with Madonna and this amazing experience he had. And then he also reposted an interview he and Josh Brolin did together and he also tagged him there.

And Josh Brolin did not like that. Then he posted a clip from the proposal the movie he did with Sandra Bulock and he said 17 years but who’s counting? And Sandra Bulock actually commented on it and she said we are I think >> none of this is confirmed by Reynolds Lively or their representatives. The claims come from unnamed sources, tabloid reporting and unsealed legal documents from a case that hasn’t fully played out.

But if even part of what’s being reported is accurate, it raises an uncomfortable question for an industry built on image management. When the private messages of the nice guy become public, does Hollywood actually hold its favorites accountable? Or does the machine just wait for the story to move on?
